The week of music and insanity.

So lately work has been crazy busy, we have been travelling all over the country and I haven't really seen that much of anything besides work and roads. So as you can imagine I am starting to go out of my mind. So unfortunately I haven't gotten much of an opportunity to write much here. But I have been listening to the radio a lot and I have found a few more songs that I think should be shared with the world. Also this week I have a few songs that I am sure everyone has heard at least once that drive me absolutely insane. I am not going to post those videos because I refuse to have their names associated with my youtube history.

But anyway the new songs to share with everyone are:
1. Imagine Dragons. On top of the world
This is my current chilax song.

Lazy Tuesday Music Segment

So I decided to make a slight adjustment to my music segment. Well first of all I actually have to start writing it again, but anyway instead of just writing about the song of the day I am going to talk about new songs that I find and think should be shared with the world. They might often be songs that will already be pretty popular but oh well, sometimes there are people out there that just somehow manage to miss these new videos and songs that get posted online and don't get much radio time or publicity. I know I have missed quite a lot of them.

This song is called professional griefers and is a song by Deadmau5 with vocals from Gerard Way (Lead singer for my chemical romance.) It was released in August of 2012. No idea how it took me so long to discover it. I used to be a huge MCR fan and still listen to their stuff and follow what is going on with them, but somehow I missed the release of this song. Video below, ENJOY!

Sleep deprived Saturday

So I have currently been awake for 31 hours and I don't like it. I miss my bed and my awesomely random dreams. I decided that it would be a great idea to write this entry in my sleep deprived state and see what happens sure. I had to get up at 3 am to go to work today and I actually went to bed early last night but I just could not sleep at all. My brain kept telling me that I was going to sleep through my alarms and I would miss work, so I just lay there staring at the ceiling for what seemed like days.

I eventually decided that there was no way I was going to get any sleep so I put on my headphones and started to listen to some music and paroose some random blogs. I came upon THIS one that was truely random indeed. I highly recommend this blog to anyone looking for a blog that is compossed of literally some of the most random things I have ever read. I can honestly say I would love to be as random as this person. I for some reason love being pure random and saying things that make my friends wonder what is going on inside my head. I also found some amazing songs that I am now going to stick a few up here for all to see and enjoy as I know ye will :-)

The first one here is Breezeblocks by Alt-j. It is definitely my favourite of all the ones I have found recently. Don't really know why, I'll get back yo you on that when I figure it out. I think it's because of the lyrics. They are amazing.

Reasons why humanity is awesome

So I haven't really being very good at posting on here lately so I have decided to create a new segment where I post about things that make me so happy to be alive and why humanity is awesome. Lately whenever I watch the news or read a paper it is usually full of sad news stories but every so often there is that one story that you read or see that makes you smile and see why people never give up on things. So I am going to post some of the stories and videos that put a smile on my face. These are only my opinions of the reasons why I think humanity is awesome I would love to hear from you guys as to why you think humanity is awesome or even the opposite. Just leave a comment below.

I decided that the first post I do on this segment will be about a few videos I found by the Piano guys while stumbling around the internet and literally spent a good 2 hours listening to and perusing the rest of their videos. They have written a lot of their own music but they also cover a lot of classical music. But in my opinion this doesn't make them any less awesome because it still takes a ridiculous amount of talent to cover some classical songs.

I decided to include them in the reasons why humanity is awesome segment because they are so passionate about their music and they play because they love doing it. They have spent countless hours of their lives honing their talents as musicians and have probably thought about giving up many many times while learning, but they never did and they are now amazing and have made a career from something they love. Every time I watch their videos I can't stop smiling. I couldn't even in my wildest dreams even imagine being able to do something like that. The skill involved is immense. People like these guys are truly awesome. And there are plenty of them out there. The internet is full of them. All we have to do is look :)

Expect to see a few more posts in this segment as I am often stumbling upon amazing stories or even just seeing things in my own personal life that restore my faith in humanity and show that humanity really is awesome. I like to remember that no matter how depressing things can get there is always something out there that will put a smile on your face.

Progress report

So it has been two months since I posted something, oops. I did not realise it had been that long. I fell behind when it came time to study for my end of year exams and then I was working after that and other stuff came up and I just stopped writing. I have failed my new years resolution to do something new ever week for the year, but I still have other ones to do and I will think of other things to write about. I just thought I should post something on here to get myself back into the swing of things. Thank you to all the people that have contacted me to make sure i was ok since I have been gone for so long. I will catch up on what I have missed and get back to writing ASAP. But for now I am just going to post a song that I recently discovered that I think is excellent. It is about not letting people push you around and always standing up for yourself. Really made me think about my past and how I used to be and how I have changed since then. Still some changes to make but I am getting there :)

My Song of the Week

So I was thinking I might start posting one or two songs a week that are kind of the theme song for that week or day. What do people think? I been thinking about this idea for awhile and I have seen that a lot of other bloggers do this, so I was hesitant incase people thought I was copying their style and didn't like it.

But anyway, I am currently doing end of year exams in college so I am posting my "exam" song. This is a song that I have listened to before every exam I have sat since my Leaving Cert and I class it as my happy relax song. It's the song Somewhere over the Rainbow by Israel "IZ Kamakawiwo'ole. A few years ago my grandfather suddenly died and I found that this song always reminds me of him and makes me smile. I am in no way religious, but this song always makes me feel like he is looking over me and keeping me safe. I have this ritual that must be done before every exam and it hasn't let me down yet so I am going to keep it up for the rest of my life. Don't fix what ain't broke. I hope people enjoy the song and it makes them think about happier times in their lives. And for anyone doing exams or going through anything hectic in their lives at the minute, I hope this song can help you like it helps me :) Aloha nui loa

Things that irritate me part 2

My first installment of things that irritate me here!
Ok, so it's time for the second installment of Things that irritate me.

GO!

PEOPLE WHO CHEW WITH THEIR MOUTHS OPEN!
I know I mentioned this in part 1 of things that irritate me, but it is just so GOD damn annoying. There are people out there who do this and I don't know if people know they are doing it. These people manage to chew louder than whatever is in the background. I was watching a movie recently and the person managed to chew much louder than the movie. They were eating chocolate so it SHOULDN'T have made noise. It was so freaking annoying. Also girls that ask there boyfriends to do everything for them when they can do it themselves.

People Who Talk Constantly During Movies.
I don't mind people laughing during comedy films or screaming during horrors or such things like that. But the people I am talking about here are the people who talk constantly as if they have no interest in the movie. They constantly ask questions that only people who have seen the films already could possibly answer. They also comment on absolutely everything that happens in the movie. Then they get lost in the film and have to ask more questions to try and catch up in the film. I was at the cinema with friends and there were people in the screen that were clearly not interested the film, but didn't leave. Then after awhile they took an interest after talking constantly for about an hour and then asked someone to catch them up and ended up distracting them from the movie so they got lost as well. It's not fair on people. If you aren't interested in the film, just get up and leave. It's simple.

Things that irritate me.

So this is just some of the things I could think of that irritate me. I know their are a lot more and will add them as I think of them. I am a bit obsessive compulsive about a lot of things so a lot of these things will probably seem weird to you guys, but they just wreck my head. ARRRGH

Please obey!
People who chew with their mouths open!

I don't know why it does, but there is just something about when people are eating and they chew with their mouth open, it drives me insane. I never say anything, because I am polite and don't want to be rude. When they do it, it seems to make whatever they are eating sound so loud, especially crisps and crunchy stuff. It's just one of those sounds that goes straight through my head and irritates me. I'm sure we all have sounds that do that to us. I can't concentrate on anything I am doing or if I am listening to something when someone is eating with their mouth open.

Empty things been put back in the fridge.

When someone finishes a carton of milk or a packet of butter and puts the damn thing back in the fridge... My God, that drives ME UP THE WALL. Like, why do that? WHY? It's so pointless, you could just go and put them in the bin, it's not that hard. It's one of the times I am glad I live at home, because it is usual my brother that does that so I can just hit him a slap and tell him to stop being a twat. I know, it's silly, but it just wrecks my head sometimes.

Misuse of exclamation marks!
To be honest, I wouldn't call myself a grammar nazi because my grammar a lot of the time is shocking. One of the few things I know about is the use of exclamation marks. It has apparently become accepted in a lot of ares, especially in things like print media, leaflets, posters, etc. These areas pay marketing and advertising “specialists” thousands of Euro and yet they still send out ads and leaflets that have employed the use of the double exclamation mark. “The lowest prices in Galway guaranteed!!”. I have even recently seen the triple exclamation mark, but we wont go into that, because it is just insane.

The week of strange weather

Hello there.

Add caption
Last week I was elected as one of the class reps for my course which means I basically have to do my best to resolve any issues people in my class are having. I also have to attend monthly course board meetings. These are basically meetings where all the lecturers of a particular course, Electronic Engineering in my case, meet once a month and discuss how the course is going and any issues that have come up, the curriculum and ways to improve the course. The reason that me and the other reps in my course have to attend these meetings is because it is the perfect forum for us to raise any issues that keep arising from year to year and try to help find a solution, it also allows us to speak our minds about the teaching styles and ways to improve them if necessary. One of the hardest parts of the meetings is staying awake, I'm sure anyone reading this knows that at board meetings there is always one exceptionally boring person. We are also the go between from the students union to our individual classes. We meet twice a month with the Students union president and discuss upcoming events and issues that classes are having that he can help with. A lot of people think and are mostly right that a class reps main responsibility is to organise class parties. These are a great way for everyone to relax and get absolutely locked on a night out haha.

Freshers Fortnight

Thought since college has finally settled down and I am getting into some kind of a routine I would write a little something. These past two weeks have been a bit all over the place. For one I only just got over the flu I had for two weeks on Thursday. But sure that is life, what can you do.

I have finally started back to college two Mondays ago :-) So glad to be back. It was a waste of a day though, I was in GMIT at 9 o'clock in the morning because they hadn't sent any kind of timetable or information about where or when we had to go to and because we are all brilliant students :P Anyway I went down to the Electronics corridor to find out the timetable and it turns out I didn't bloody need to be in until two o'clock that Afternoon for my Spanish class.

Terrible Thursdays

Today was an absolutely fantastic day (Not sure how to portray sarcasm via this blog :-/ ) I went to sleep last night after posting the blog yesterday with a bit of a tickle in my throat and woke up this morning with a full blown cough :( Thought my immune system was pretty strong but I guess that is just the way the cookie crumbles. I'm guessing it is from lying on the ground outside last night for an hour and a half in just my t-shirt and jeans. Kind of regret being one of the patients that was going to be lying on the ground at Civil Defence last night, but it was still an excellent exercise. I just thought we would have been finished faster. Oh well, I'll be grand in a few days.
